Carson Ferris Hits The Ground With His Latest Release, "FOMO"

From Provo, Utah, Carson Ferris, the fourteen-year-old American pop artist, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist, hits the ground with his latest release, "FOMO," on October 11, 2024. In the bustling landscape of Utah’s music scene, where every note competes for attention, Carson Ferris shines as a beacon of artistry and authenticity, and his journey thus far has been one of exploration and expression, inviting listeners into his world with each verse and beat. On several occasions, Carson Ferris has been acclaimed for his impeccable musical gifts. He was the finalist in the International Acoustic Music Awards in 2023 for Drive Alone Acoustic; he sang in Donny Osmond's Las Vegas show, the national anthem at the Utah Jazz; and he did a memorable collaboration with Trinidad Cordoba in 2021 dubbed “Can’t Be Without You.”

"FOMO" is a song about the fear of missing out. It's a song about priorities, making decisions, figuring out what matters most to you, and choosing that, even if it means missing out on other things. This can apply to a lot of things, but what Carson Ferris specifically wrote "FOMO" about is choosing to do music instead of being a normal teenager. We all come across hard decisions in our lives that will lead to missing out on something. The incredible penmanship and showmanship Carson surrenders here is way beyond his years, a huge testament to his limitless gifts, integrity, and authenticity.

The song was produced by longtime mentor and collaborator MYKYL. The guitar intro immediately invites a listener, wrapping around them with a warm embrace and providing a sweet-sounding backdrop for Carson’s sleek and polished voice. He’s got such a gentle voice that is still emotive, smoothly gliding over the guitar foundation with heartwarming appeal. Benefitting from such a lustrous production, “FOMO” glows and grows in depth and color. The striking pop beats ease in as Carson’s beautiful voice breathes life as he paints the track’s inspiration with graphic lyrical detail. The electronic and rock influences underscore the track’s upbeat tempo, and there is a way the emotions are raised, especially with that unforgettable hook with both Carson and the song’s melodies reaching a fever pitch.

As a teenager pursuing his musical passion, it is a no-brainer that he has had to give up many things to fully concentrate on being the best musician that he can be. He has sacrificed those teenage parties, adventures, spending time with friends, playing video games, and other teenage stuff, and “FOMO” is an ode to this and highlights the whole notion of priorities. For him, music has always been his number one priority, and even though it has meant that he sacrifices being a normal teenager, it is well worth it. “FOMO” is an enchanting, memorable, and infectious masterpiece and another outstanding addition to Carson’s repertoire.

Carson’s music is pop with some rock and electronic influence. His favorite band of all time is Journey, and his music is influenced by Benson Boone, Knox, and Ed Sheeran, to name a few.
