Sleep Stage Unleashes ‘Warning: Toxic’ — A Gritty, Riff-Driven Descent into Love, Obsession, and Emotional Numbness

‘Warning: Toxic’, the hard-hitting new album from Sleep Stage, is a visceral journey through the darker edges of human connection and expression. Fusing heavy riffs with raw emotional honesty, the album explores what happens when relationships shift from obsession to numbness – from the vampiric highs of Love at First Bite to the panic-inducing spiral of Panic. Across its tracklist, ‘Warning: Toxic’ dissects how people become habits, and how love, when misused or misunderstood, morphs into a vice – one that hurts just as much to keep as it does to lose.

From the jaded opening track Sick of Love Songs to the crushing, reflective finale Aching Pains, the album confronts themes of superficiality, emotional dependency, and the hard lessons we often avoid. With sharp, cynical lyrics and annoyingly catchy riffs, it delivers alternative anthems with a twist – something strangely familiar that scratches that unreachable itch in your brain.

“This record is for the emotionally hungover,” says Sleep Stage. “We’ve all had someone who made us sick of love songs, despite the pretty picture we paint of people, and even of ourselves. This album is what happens when you stop romanticising it.” ‘Warning: Toxic’ is available now on all major streaming platforms.
