Something is electrifying about hearing a sound that feels entirely untapped, and that’s exactly what Proklaim delivers with his latest release, “CREEPIN/FURTHER (2 IN 1).” Hailing from Windhoek, Namibia, Proklaim is a rapper, singer and a sonic alchemist fusing worlds. This two-in-one track, released on July 17, 2025, is a high-octane blend of gritty boom bap swagger and the hypnotic pulse of South African Amapiano. It pulses with intention, weaving an underground hip-hop essence with a distinctly African cadence that few dare to try and fewer still pull off this well.
The first half, “CREEPIN,” kicks things off with a brooding, cinematic vibe. It’s dark and deliberate, riding on dusty drum loops and raw, reverberated verses that creep into your ears like whispered secrets. Proklaim’s flow here is razor-sharp—measured but menacing—giving the track a noir energy that feels like it could soundtrack a midnight chase scene through the backstreets of Windhoek. There’s tension in the beat, but also confidence. You can hear the respect for traditional hip-hop—the golden age fingerprints are all over it, but Proklaim never lets nostalgia tie him down. Instead, he pushes forward.
Then comes the shift. “FURTHER“ transits and erupts. Suddenly, the percussion thins out and opens into an infectious Amapiano groove, complete with airy synths and that unmistakable log drum heartbeat. The tempo lifts, the mood lightens, and Proklaim morphs with it and his delivery smooths into a rhythmic chant that feels like an invocation. It’s here that the track’s core idea hits hardest: progression. He’s moving between styles and building a sonic bridge between cultural legacies and club-floor futures. It’s hypnotic, and honestly brilliant.
Credit must go to Wojtek Majewski of Audio Art Namibia, whose mixing and mastering turn this ambitious fusion into a cohesive, polished experience. The track was recorded at Pen Pushaz Studios, and it shows—everything sounds intentional but unforced, preserving the spontaneous energy Proklaim aimed for. The sampling from the Shaka Zulu mini-series adds historical weight, grounding the modern sounds in ancestral echoes. You hear the track and feel it coursing through generations of rhythm and rebellion.

At a time when genre lines are increasingly blurry, “CREEPIN/FURTHER (2 IN 1)” blurs and erases them and paints something new. This is another fusion attempt and a blueprint for what hip-hop can become when rooted in identity but driven by fearless experimentation. Proklaim is crafting legacy, and this track is a bold step forward on that journey. If you’re a curator looking for something truly different, start here. This is the sound of borders breaking.
