Freddi Rituali is a synthpop and coldwave singer-songwriter duo, formed in 2023 by Diego Ballani (vocals and lyrics) and Marco Tosetti (guitar, synth, programming). After spending twenty years playing in the power pop band Made, the two decided to create this new project, largely inspired by early ’80s British synthpop, Italian New Wave bands like Diaframma and CCCP, and the sound of contemporary artists like TR/ST and Molchat Doma.
The introspective lyrics, dark and minimal sound (created through a sophisticated interplay between guitar and cold synth), and emotional vocals were the key elements of their self-titled debut EP, released in 2024.
One year later, the single “Giulia che balla” (accompanied by the tracks “Madame” and “Lacrime di gioia”) marks their return with a sound that blends dark and danceable electropop with reflective interludes centred around corrosive romanticism.
