J0VANNA, the rising star in the indie Pop/R&B scene, announces her empowering new single, “Aphrodite,” set for release on January 3, 2025, on all major streaming platforms. This deeply personal track highlights themes of self-love, body positivity, and confidence, resonating with listeners navigating the pressures of modern beauty standards.

Blending contemporary R&B, neo-soul, and retro-soul with pop elements, Aphrodite offers a powerful anthem inspired by the goddess of beauty. Written by J0VANNA herself, the track takes listeners on a journey of self-acceptance, directly challenging the unrealistic standards perpetuated by social media and society.

On her inspiration for the track, J0VANNA shares, “Aphrodite is a reminder that everybody is beautiful and worthy. I know how harmful social media can be. Just remember, everything you see online is often fake, and you should never compare yourself to something that is not only harmful and unrealistic to your body but also damaging to your self-esteem and mental health.”

In Aphrodite, J0VANNA’s lyrical prowess shines as she examines the impact of social media on self-esteem (“Scrolling through my feed on IG, nothing new, used to mask humanity”). The chorus, “My body is perfect, it’s a deity,” celebrates individuality and encourages listeners to reject harmful comparisons and embrace their authentic selves.

The song was mixed by Terrence Rolle (Tracksion) and mastered by GRAMMY® Award-Winning Producer and Engineer Frank Socorro, whose credits include working with legends such as Amy Winehouse and her groundbreaking album Back to Black. Regarded as one of the most influential and successful albums of its era, Back to Black went on to win 5 GRAMMY Awards, including Best Pop Vocal Album, solidifying Winehouse’s legacy in modern music. Socorro has also worked with icons such as Mary J. Blige, Lenny Kravitz, and Lauryn Hill.

The South Florida native and Berklee College of Music graduate, J0VANNA, continues to make her mark on the music industry. Her second single, “TwentyOne,” released in 2021, gained significant attention when it landed on Spotify editorial playlists ‘Viral Hits’ and ‘Hit Italiane’ in the summer of 2023. Now on her fifth single, Aphrodite, J0VANNA builds on her mission to connect with audiences through relatable, uplifting music while offering a bold and empowering message of self-love and acceptance.
